Kitartó kutatásuk sikerrel járt
Több évtizedes tapasztalattal a hátuk mögött Lucskai Attila r. főtörzszászlóson és Válóczi Tamás r. főtörzszászlóson nem fogott ki a koromsötét folyó, sejtették, hogy a sodrás meddig vihette a bajba jutott férfit és a hídtól pár száz méterre már céltudatosan pásztázták a vizet. Kitartó kutatásuk végül sikerrel járt, és bár kihűlve, de élve emelték hajójukba a 63 éves férfit, akit miután kivittek a partra, a mentők kórházba vittek.
A Dunai Vízirendészeti Rendőrkapitányság rendőreit nem a szerencse, sokkal inkább a sok évtizedes tapasztalat vezette őket; mindketten ismerik a folyót, mint a tenyerüket. Válóczi Tamás r. főtörzszászlós kezdetben katonaként szolgált Csopakon, majd két hónap után átszerelt a rendőrséghez, így került 1993-ban a dunai vízirendészethez.
Lucskai Attila r. főtörzszászlós 1989-ben húzott először egyenruhát, ő is kezdetektől a Dunán szolgál. Az évek alatt számát sem tudják, hogy hány ember életét mentették már meg, de az biztos, hogy százakban mérhető.
