Újhelyi István maradt az EU rendkívüli ENSZ-nagykövete
Megerősítette rendkívüli nagyköveti tisztségében Ujhelyi István szocialista európai parlamenti (EP-) képviselőt az ENSZ Turisztikai Világszervezete (UNWTO) – írta csütörtöki közleményében a politikus irodája.
Továbbra is számítanak a munkájára
Mint közölték, az UNWTO szentpétervári közgyűlésén az Európai Parlamentet Ujhelyi képviselte mint a közlekedési és turisztikai EP-szakbizottság alelnöke, és a találkozón az ENSZ szakosított szervezetének főtitkára megerősítette őt rendkívüli nagyköveti tisztségében, jelezve, továbbra is számít a munkájára a kapcsolattartásban az EU-intézményekkel.
„A turizmus szereplői számára kiemelt jelentőségű terület kell, hogy legyen a következő években a fenntarthatóság és az oktatás, az uniós intézmények szerepe pedig mindkettőben érdemben növekedni fog, ezért fontos a hatékony és érdemi együttműködés az EU és a szektor szereplői, érdekképviselői között” – fogalmazott Ujhelyi.
Az UNWTO 1975-ben alakult, világkonferenciáin, szakmai rendezvényein a tagországok küldöttei szakemberek bevonásával vitatják meg a turizmus problémáit, valamint a nemzeti és nemzetközi teendőket.
